Digital Dream Jars

Digital Dream Jars

Thu 4 Aug, 12pm - 4pm
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s The BFG, in this workshop you can make your own digital dream jar to interact with a special animated game.

Inspired by Roald Dahl’s The BFG, in this workshop you can decorate your own dream jar, fill it with dream potion and use it to play an interactive animated game created in Scratch, a computer programming language designed for children. You’ll learn about the idea of conductivity, how it can be used in digital making and some of the things you can programme in Scratch. You can also take your dream jar home with you at the end of the day.

All workshops are free and drop-in so there’s no need to book. Parents must accompany children at all times.

Developed in partnership with Leicestershire Libraries. Digital Dream Jars workshops are also being held in libraries across the county. Go to the Leicestershire Libraries website for more details.

Suitable for ages 3-12.
