Letters From Baghdad PG

Fri 19 – Tue 23 May

Synopsis

This new documentary biopic looks at the astonishing life of “the female Lawrence of Arabia”, English writer, explorer and archaeologist Gertrude Bell.

Narrated by Tilda Swinton, Letters from Baghdad chronicles Bell’s exploration of the Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, Persian, French and German, she formed relationships with numerous tribes across Mesopotamia during her travels and post-World War I used her political power and influence to play a key part in the establishing of Iraq.

A fascinating insight into the life of an incredible woman.
