The Red Turtle PG

Fri 16 – Thu 22 Jun

Synopsis

★★★★★ - Mark Kermode's film of the week | ★★★★ - The Telegraph

Castaway on a deserted tropical island, a shipwrecked mariner builds a raft in order to sail back to civilisation, only for it to be destroyed by unknown creature.

Building more sophisticated rafts, he finds his attempts continually thwarted with the culprit revealed to be a giant Red turtle.

Does the turtle want to be enemies or friends? And why won’t it let him leave?

Co-produced by Studio Ghibli, this elegiac, wondrous, near-wordless animated film makes the heart soar.
