Exploding back onto the big screen fully digitally restored, the first two films (no Thunderdomes here!) in George Miller’s Mad Max series that revolutionised Australian cinema and catapulted Mel Gibson to international stardom.
Part I is set in the dystopian outback where Gibson plays Max Rockatansky, a police officer out for revenge after his family are killed by a crazed motorcycle gang. Part II ‘The Road Warrior’ is set in post-apocalyptic Australia and sees out anti-hero Max helping a tribe of people escape The Humungus and his horde of savages.

With our new film Joe signifying a return to form for Nicolas Cage, we screen what we think was his last great performance: the dual role of screenwriters Charlie and Donald Kaufman in Spike Jonze's brilliant comedy-drama metafilm Adaptation.
