Alan Tuckett, our new Chair of Trustees has been profiled in the Guardian on 21st October for his work promoting adult education.
Focusing on his time as chief executive of the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), the piece highlights Alan’s considerable impact on helping to change the way adult education is viewed and funded by the government today.
Stressing the power of adult learning to break down social barriers and enrich local communities, Alan was instrumental in preventing a government attempt to stop all funding for adult education in 1991.
