Phoenix supports the homeless at Christmas
Wed 9 Dec 2015
Phoenix is holding a special charity screening of Hector – a new heart-warming British drama about a homeless man’s journey at Christmas – in support of Leicester charity Action Homeless on Friday 11 December at 7.30pm.
People are invited to make charitable donations for the homeless in return for tickets to the film. Donations can be non-perishable foods – such as pasta or tinned soups – or other items such as clothing, cleaning equipment or small Christmas gifts.
Donations can be brought into Phoenix at any time, as well as on the night of the screening. A shopping list of suggested donation items is available at phoenix.org.uk.
All donations will be packed up by Phoenix staff and handed to Action Homeless to be distributed to homeless and vulnerably-housed people around Leicester in time for Christmas.
The charity screening builds upon the success of last year’s showing of It’s a Wonderful Life which saw 130 people attend and donate hundreds of items.
