HELP US CONTINUE OUR SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY CINEMA VOLUNTEERS
For many years, the Phoenix Community Cinema team has been helping some 60 volunteers screen over 350 films annually in community cinemas across Leicestershire, Northampton and Rutland.
Providing essential support – including projectionists, films, equipment and advice – the team has enabled volunteers to bring local communities together around film, and support people unable to access established cinemas for health, transport or confidence reasons.
Vital funds from local authorities and national support organisations are now scarce and – despite taking steps to reduce costs and increase earnings – the Phoenix Community Cinema team urgently need to find new sources of funding to continue their work.
How you can help
Aviva offers funding for community organisations through its Aviva Community Fund. Funds of up to £25,000 are awarded to projects which receive enough votes from the public online.
The team has applied for funds to help continue – and invest further in – their valuable service. You can make all the difference by voting for them online on the Aviva Community Fund website by 21 November.
You’ll need to register and then cast your vote for their project – and others if you choose.
