A Dozen Summers is now set for national and international distribution at film festivals across the world.
“I’m not sure where my filmmaking or acting career would be without Phoenix,” said Kenton. “Phoenix is an important part of Leicester’s filmmaking infrastructure, meaning that, as well as developing talent which can be used within the larger industry, there are also home-grown projects with which to get involved.”
It’s been a busy year for Kenton, with the production of A Dozen Summers as well as continuing his acting career. He’s also keen to pass on his experience through tutoring, in ventures such as Phoenix’s four-week Acting for Film Basics course. “Training the next generation of actors, directors and filmmakers means, hopefully, that I can make a tangible difference to the community,” he says.
While working with Phoenix, Kenton has been able to create, maintain and grow his filmmaking business, giving him opportunities to meet other filmmakers, star in a variety of films, create his own work, and reach a wide film-loving audience. In his own words, “Phoenix is much more than a place to see film. It’s a place where film gets made.”
