In the run up to the Oscars Phoenix customers voted for their award winners. With some surprising differences from the Academy’s choices, check out the results below.

Your Best Actor

In a very close result you voted Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything as your Best Actor.

Scooping both the BAFTA and the Oscar for his incredible portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking, The Theory of Everything will return in Phoenix in March.

Your Best Actress

While the Academy favoured Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike’s fearsome turn as Amy in David Fincher’s Gone Girl swung it for you.

 

Your Best Director

Wes Anderson stormed to victory for Best Director with The Grand Budapest Hotel while the Academy’s winner Alejandro González Iñárritu was left out in the cold.

Voted Phoenix customers’ top film of the last five years, the love for Wes is still going strong at Phoenix and The Grand Budapest Hotel returns on Sat 14 March.

Your Best Picture

Another disagreement with the Academy… Richard Linklater’s Boyhood takes the top award for you.

Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, this impressive film returns to Phoenix in March.
