A Girl from Mogadishu is based on the testimony of Ifrah Ahmed, one of the world’s foremost global activists against FGM and gender-based violence.

Fleeing war-torn Somalia in 2006, Ifrah (Aja Naomi King, How To Get Away With Murder) is trafficked to Ireland where,  as an asylum-seeking refugee, she undergoes a harrowing medical examination which reveals the extent of her mutilation as a child.

Traumatised by the memory, she turns her experiences into a force for good and begins her campaign to change the story for thousands of women and girls worldwide.
