Convergence Festival

As part of Convergence, an international conference and festival of music, technology and ideas at De Montfort University, Phoenix hosts a screening of AV artworks and a set of papers exploring the technological and theoretical frontiers of the audiovisual.

As part of Convergence, an international conference and festival of music, technology and ideas at De Montfort University, Phoenix hosts a screening of audiovisual artworks and a set of papers exploring the technological and theoretical frontiers of the audiovisual.

The screening presents a strikingly diverse set of pieces from artists around the world who responded to the festival’s call for works. This includes abstract and real-world imagery, surround-sound works, experimental sound synthesis, colour-field artworks, and more.

The papers session presenters are postgraduate students at De Montfort University’s Institute for Sonic Creativity. Robert Chafer presents Multimodal synergies in multichannel audiovisual composition; A question of relativity?! and Francesc Martí discusses Multichannel audiovisual composition with audiovisual sampling and synchronous granular synthesis.
