A medium shot of Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Pixar's 1995 film Toy Story

Family Favourite: Toy Story

Suggested viewing time: Sat 24 Apr, 11am

“★★★★★ – Just perfect. Script, character, animation….this manages to break free of the yoke of ‘children’s movie’ to simply be one of the best movies of the 90’s, full-stop.” – Empire

Pixar’s first feature film and beloved by children and adults alike, Toy Story tells the tale of Woody the cowboy and Buzz Lightyear the spaceman, two ‘rival’ toys who have to get home after becoming separated from their friends.

On their journey, they must learn to overcome their differences and accept who they are – but can they find their way back to their child, Andy, before he leaves without them? Whether you’ve watched this film a thousand times or this will be your first, Toy Story is guaranteed fun for the whole family.

We’re not running an online screening event for Toy Story but it is available to stream on Disney+ so we’re suggesting that you watch the film at home at 11am on Saturday 24 April, as we usually screen family films on Saturday mornings at Phoenix.

Draw the curtains, settle down with some popcorn and enjoy your own ‘at-home’ cinema experience. And when you’re done, check out the special downloadable activities for kids on the festival website.
