Aviation Archive - Silver Wings TBC

Sun 28 Apr 2.30pm

Synopsis

See rare archive films bringing more than 50 years of British Civil Aviation back to life on the silver screen, from the pioneer Imperial Airways Silver Wing flights to Paris from Croydon in the 1930’s to the new British Aerospace BA146 wide bodied passenger feeder airliner of the 1980’s.

It shows more than five decades of civil aviation development and heralds in the trans-Atlantic jet age, including the airports and airliners of the day. It’s all genuine archive film footage which has been re-discovered, restored and is being screened mostly for the first time.

There’s nothing digital about this event!
