Bygone Leicester U

Sun 10 Dec, 2.30pm

Treat you and yours to the Phoenix annual Christmas screening of local history presented live by Rob Foxon of the Leicestershire Film Archive. This year's programme remembers a 1930’s more leisurely pace of life in Leicester with Electric Trams, plus farming & country life in Leicestershire.

We remember post-war days with local industry; manufacturing optical lens at Taylor Hobson in 1953, the Queen’s visit to Leicester in 1958 and the extraordinary trip by a class of boys from Rushey Mead School to Spain in an old double deck bus in 1950!

Remember, it's real film on a real screen; there’s nothing digital about this event!! The Leicestershire Film Archive extends Season's Greetings to all patrons and welcomes your donations of old film footage for safe keeping.
