Barry Jenkins, director of the Oscar-winning Moonlight, returns with this stunning adaptation of James Baldwin’s (I Am Not Your Negro) seminal 1974 novel. Early 1970s Harlem, and childhood friends Tish and Fonny fall hopelessly in love.

When Tish discovers she is pregnant and Fonny is imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, Tish fights to prove his innocence whilst facing up to being a 19-year old single mother in a time of dangerous racial and social oppression. A searing tale of love and hope against all odds.
