Synopsis

The opening gala of this year's Short Cinema festival competition is the Midlands premiere of Poacher.

Made by Leicestershire born filmmaker Thomas Whitworth, Poacher humanises the interconnected lives involved in the elephant extinction crisis.

Casting an eye on both sides of the fence, this suspense thriller thrusts the audience into a world where subsistence farming competes against animal welfare and conservation confronts militarised violence.
