Joe and Jerry (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) are jazz musicians working in a speakeasy bar run by mobster "Spats" Colombo. When the bar is raided and the pair become accidental witnesses to mob hit, they flee th city disguised as members of an all-female band on the road to Miami.
Marilyn Monroe stars as bombshell Sugar Kane Kowalczyk, a singer and ukulele player in the band, Sweet Sue and her Society Syncopators, whom both Joe and Jerry (now in disguise as Josephine and Daphne) develop affections for but are unable to pursue!
When they reach Miami Joe poses as an oil baron to woo Sugar, while Jerry, still stuck as Daphne, gets wooed himself by serial husband and actual millionaire Osgood Fielding III.
