Synopsis

The Post depicts the true story of fight to publish the Pentagon Papers, a Department of Defence history of US participation in Vietnam.

Discovering that four successive US presidencies had been involved in covering up details of military activity in Vietnam, America’s first female newspaper publisher, Kate Graham (Streep) of The Washington Post and its hard-driving editor, Ben Bradlee (Hanks), join an unprecedented battle between journalists and government to publish the controversial paper.

With Streep and Hanks in fine form and featuring a superb supporting cast, Steven Spielberg’s latest is timely, important cinema.
