The Wages of Fear 12A

Fri 26 – Sat 27 Jan

Synopsis

“The Wages of Fear has no superior in the field of action-suspense” – The Guardian.

In an unnamed South American country, four down on their luck men are hired to drive two trucks of highly volatile nitroglycerine to a remote oil field. The pressure builds as they are forced to navigate over perilous terrain knowing that the chemical could explode at any moment.

A masterpiece of suspense, Clouzot’s rugged and stripped down film never lets the tension drop for a single frame.

Dir: Henri-Georges Clouzot
