Film on Demand 18

Tuesdays, 4 – 25 August, 7pm – 8.30pm

Streaming platforms have become one of the most accessible ways to watch film – even more so with the current pandemic.

Tutor Stuart Peters leads this 4-week online course exploring the growth of Netflix and its competitors, and their impact on the film industry.

We'll look at the introduction of streaming with game-changer Netflix and its competitors, and assess the impact on the film industry in light of the current pandemic.

We'll also consider how big budget productions are affected by streaming, given Hollywood's focus on commercial blockbuster franchise film, and explore how streaming may lead to a change in their business strategy as the franchise film market continues to become further saturated.

Using Zoom, the course will offer an engaging mix of film clips and tutor-led group discussion, all in the comfort of your own home.

Places can be booked online only. Access details will be sent to participants by email shortly before the first session.
