film makers and includes films unseen in the UK for decades.

We’re pleased to welcome Ray and Sylvia Spare whose great-grandfather was the pioneering filmmaker Alfred Collins. This illustrated presentation includes new research on Alf and his extended family of talented song-writers, performers and film makers and includes films unseen in the UK for decades.

The family’s research shows the interconnectedness between cinema, popular music and theatre and the collaborations among the early pioneers like Alf Collins, RW Paul and Gaumont’s Alfred C. Bromhead.
