Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Shorts 18

Wed 21 Aug, 8.30pm

Iris Prize is regarded as the Academy Awards of LGBTQ+ film. These award-winning films from Iris 2018 tell modern stories from around the world with humour, heart and honesty.

This selection of international shorts will be introduced by Iris Prize festival director Berwyn Rowlands.

In 2006 Berwyn established the Iris Prize – the world’s largest LGBT short film prize at £30,000. Nine short films have been produced to date with the Iris Prize including Burger and Followers which screened at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2016 the festival celebrated its 10th anniversary and was recognised by BAFTA as an 'A' list festival. The Cardiff-based event has featured in the top 50 film festivals in the world by Movie Maker Magazine for four years, and the Iris Prize was recognised by the Queen at a reception for the British Film Industry in 2013.
