Talking Pictures Autumn (Tuesdays)
Tuesdays, 15 Nov – 20 Dec, 10.30am – 12pm
Join like-minded film enthusiasts for this 6-week course of tutor-led group discussions that put the cinema week into focus and help you get more from your cinema experience. Tutor Alan Seaman will share film clips and talk about forthcoming movies and film industry news.
Included in the price of the course is a cup of tea/coffee and a ticket to the weekday daytime screening of your choice, to be used in the same week as your session.
This Autumn’s term has been shortened to 6 weeks (from the usual 10) due to building work in the venue.
The course will run in Screen 2, and there are 35 places available. If you have access requirements, please book via Box Office as so we can ensure that your specific needs can be accommodated.
PLEASE NOTE: The course will run from 10.30am – 12pm, though Phoenix does not open to the general public until 12 o’clock. Your drinks which are included in the course fee will be available from the foyer bar.

You must be 18 or over to attend.

We do not offer refunds for cancellations of bookings, except in exceptional circumstances. In the event that an advertised course is withdrawn, we will endeavour to give 7 days’ notice and a full refund will be made.
about the tutor
Alan Seaman is an experienced freelance film teacher who works for a wide variety of venues, particularly Phoenix, Derby’s Quad, and Broadway in Nottingham. His main areas of interest are British, Scandinavian and European cinema. Alan is also a stand-up comedian and comedy club compere, and is edging slowly and painfully towards completion of his first crime novel.
