The Hand of God 15

Fri 3 – Thu 9 Dec

"Paolo Sorrentino's most personal movie is also his best" – IndieWire

"★★★★ – A hauntingly personal memoir of grief, growing up and maverick footballers. Golazzo!" – Time Out

"★★★★ – a wistful, winking cinematic scrapbook of growing up in 1980s Naples" – Telegraph

Sorrentino’s latest film is a deeply personal, autobiographical coming-of-age story set in the hometown of his youth – 1980s Naples.

Young Fabietto (Filippo Scotti) experiences the unexpected arrival of football legend Diego Maradona and an equally unexpected tragedy.

The Hand of God presents life as a series of miracles and tragedies, with very little cause and effect; and with Sorrentino – who is at the top of his game – at the helm, the film simply transcends.
