‘Green Screen’ Drop-In Day

Sat 27 Aug, 11am - 4pm, FREE
Join international willow artist Tom Hare for some family-friendly fun at Phoenix. Create willow sculptures and help design a brand new 'Green Screen' artwork for our Café garden.

Leicestershire-based international willow artist Tom Hare is building a major new piece of work at Phoenix – and he wants local adults and children to help him design it.

As part of the Green Screen Project, we’re holding a free drop-in session at Phoenix for families on Saturday 27 August between 11am and 4pm.

No need to book – just come along on the day.

Tom, who has exhibited all over the world, will be there to share his willow weaving skills.

He’s looking for creative ideas for the screen which will eventually stand up to nine feet tall and provide a striking border for the Phoenix Café Bar’s outdoor seating area.

Gardening experts will also be on hand on the day to talk about native species planting and community gardens.

Once the design has been finalised, members of the public will be invited to help Tom weave the screen on site later this summer.
