We’ve got a great range of downloadable creative activities for kids, plus games and online projects for adults too, to keep you all busy at home during the lockdown.
KIDS 'AT-HOME' ACTIVITIES
We’ve added to our growing list of free creative activities for children to download and try at home, and there are now 10 different activities available using Scratch, with new ones each week. Share your work with us in the Phoenix Scratch studio – we can’t wait to see what you create.
Using experimental tools to discover game design, this free 4-week course will take you through the basics of building and publishing story-telling games. Share your completed projects with us, and they’ll even feature in the next tutorial! Suitable for ages 12+.
This downloadable interactive game by Studio Oleomingus (and commissioned by Phoenix) blends descriptive text and surrealist visuals. In the game you play the part of a building-eater. Tasked with consuming your environment you reveal fragments of poetry that hint at why you are there, and what it means to be a building-eater.
We’ve launched the Phoenix Isolation Jam on Itch and we’re inviting you to submit your own games. We’re encouraging submissions from people of all ages and all levels of experience, and we’ve put together some brilliant resources to help get you started. To take part, join the jam and then upload your games.
FTP is a monthly, open session for learning about new tools for the development of digital arts projects. It is a space to share current projects or create new collaborations with peers. The meet-up is free and open to all, and sessions are happening online while we’re closed.
Our free monthly drop-in workshops give kids the chance to get creative with the latest digital technologies. Take a look at our gallery to see the fabulously inventive work that children have made in some of these workshop sessions.
