The next phase of construction for our Phoenix 2020 expansion project will focus on creating our new Café Bar, and joining the extension to the existing building. This means that our Café Bar is now closed and has been walled off from the foyer. We will, therefore, have some temporary facilities in place while our new Café Bar is built.
We now have a small bar in the foyer where you can buy drinks and snacks to take into your screening or to take away, including draught beer, wine and freshly made coffee.
We also have a new selection of delicious grab-and-go wraps, sandwiches and salads, prepared by our chefs every morning and packaged for your convenience (in compostable packing). The new range is available from the foyer bar to take away – you can also take your refreshments into your screening or up to our courtyard seating area (located on the first floor, with lift access).
We’re working on some exciting ideas for catering over the summer, and will keep you updated as plans progress.
Clearly the closure of the Café Bar will lead to some inconvenience, as we know many of you enjoy a meal or a drink when you come to Phoenix. But the closure is essential to enable us to continue with the building work, and the end result will be a fabulous venue that offers even more for all our customers – more films, more art, more learning opportunities, more special events, a bigger Café Bar, and a terrific new roof terrace. As the saying goes, you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs!
Your support helped us weather the challenges of the pandemic, and we’re extremely grateful for the ongoing support and patience of all our customers and MyPhoenix Members and Friends while we complete our expansion project.
