In 1968, Stroud Cornock (Leicester School of Art) and Ernest Edmonds (Leicester Technical College)  – both Leicester-based artists and educators – saw the potential of interactive computer-based art and after a chance meeting began to work together. This was the start of a tradition of computer art in Leicester and Leicestershire that continues to the present day.

Join us for the launch of Leicester Computer Art Pioneers, in partnership with the Computer Arts Society (CAS). The exhibition explores Leicester's computer art history from the 1960s to the 1990s, and features historic and contemporary work by eight artists who lived and worked in the city and county during this era: Stroud Cornock, Ernest Edmonds, Stephen Scrivener, Dominic Boreham, Graham Bate, Brian Reffin Smith, Sean Clark and Stephen Bell.

The launch will include short talks from curator, Sean Clark, and some of the renowned artists whose work features in the exhibition.

Free event. Booking is advisable as capacity is limited.
