"★★★★ – one of the best British films of 2023" – Arts Desk

★★★★ – Guardian

★★★★ – Eye for Film

Tish Murtha, subject of Paul Sng’s (Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché) latest documentary, was a trailblazing photographer in the 1970s & 80s who spent her life documenting the working class and their struggles in northern England.

Growing up and living in the environments she photographed, Tish was able to capture authentic images, rejecting the fetishisation of poverty prevalent in the art world at the time.

A warm and passionate tribute to a woman whose legacy lives on thanks to those who truly understood her.

Director Paul Sng joins us for a Q&A after the 6.30pm screening on Thu 11 Jan, hosted by Ulrike Kubatta - documentary filmmaker and creative director of The DocHub.
