Continuing our extended season marking the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, this charming adaptation of one of her less prominent novels will be introduced by Austen experts from De Montfort University. Originally made by the BBC to show as part of their Screen Two anthology series, Northanger Abbey is the story of Catherine Morland, a sheltered young woman who escapes into her imagination by reading Gothic novels. Invited to Bath by family friends, Cathy finds herself falling for clergyman Henry Tilney.
