Tutors: Connor Winterton

Booking Information:
This course will run from 10.30am – 4pm on Saturday 7 September 2019.
You must be 18 or over to attend.

Join tutor Connor Winterton for a closer look at the controversial movement called ‘Extreme Cinema’. Extreme films often include explicit or graphic sex scenes; over-the-top, gut-wrenching violence; or themes that are seen to be controversial or taboo – examples include Srdjan Spasojevic’s A Serbian Film; and Lars von Trier’s Antichrist, Nymphomaniac Vol 1 & 2 and (most recently) The House That Jack Built.

We’ll explore the beginnings of Extreme Cinema; what makes a film extreme; how these films are produced and distributed; and we’ll also consider how extreme films affect us and how they make us feel.
