From rappers on the streets of Mumbai to the history and impact of Afro-Andalusian culture on Flamenco, we present a season of films exploring music and its ability to move, connect and elicit change.

From balcony concerts to virtual raves, music has helped people remain connected all over the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. Film has a unique power to embody the immediacy, intensity and sense of community that makes music so special, and with the experience of live gigs still missing from our lives, we present a season of films exploring music and its ability to move, connect and elicit change.

Featuring rappers on the streets of Mumbai, Scottish best friends desperate to attend a rave, the history and impact of Afro-Andalusian culture on Flamenco, UK battle rappers, the other fab-four from Liverpool, strong female artists forging careers against the odds, and David Byrne in that suit – we have something for every musical taste, plus Q&As, a DJ set and talks organised with local partners and arts organisations.

This season was originally part of Film Feels: Connected, a UK-wide cinema season, supported by the National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network.
