Sounds of the Cultural Quarter

Sounds of the Cultural Quarter app

Available Now
This new app lets you explore Leicester's Cultural Quarter through sounds from past and present, which are triggered as you follow trails around the area.

The Sounds of the Cultural Quarter app uses locative technology to deliver an immersive experience incorporating sounds from past and present that can be heard individually or as a multi-layered soundscape.

As you explore Leicester’s Cultural Quarter with the app, specially recorded sounds are activated, re-imagining the urban history of the area and bringing it to life in a new and innovative way.

Get the app on Android here or iPhone here, or search for Sounds of the Cultural Quarter in Google Play or the App Store.

Sounds of the Cultural Quarter was commissioned by Phoenix and developed by Cuttlefish Multimedia as part of Affective Digital Histories, a research project exploring how communities change with urban decline and regeneration. To find out more visit affectivedigitalhistories.org.uk.
