Explore the forensic research that underpins the Thanatos exhibition in this free panel talk and workshop from the team behind the project
Join Dr Anna Williams for an introduction to her cutting-edge forensic research that has led to the identification of some of the gases given off by decomposing cadavers, and their potential for locating and investigating dead bodies. The presentation will be followed with a conversation between Dr Williams, artist Eric Fong and producer Abigail Addison.
After the talk, Dr Williams will lead a short The Scent of Death workshop, which will allow participants to smell for themselves some of the volatile organic compounds that are given off by cadavers during the decomposition process.
