A crowd of teenagers hang out at a backyard party, drinking beers around the barbeque. Meanwhile, and unbeknownst to them, a group of young French mathematicians are observing the teenagers in an attempt to derive a love formula from their conversations and flirtations. French-Algerian artist and filmmaker Neïl Beloufa subtly combines elements of documentary, science fiction and reality TV to form an uncanny portrait of contemporary youth.
The film will be introduced by moving image artist Anna Lucas.
This screening is presented in collaboration with the ICA, as part of the Art & Screen Network, funded by Arts Council England.
