Moving Image Day: Little City Studio

This event seeks to showcase moving image artworks by a range of artists within the context of a day-long festival exploring themes of process, production and performance from a provincial urban perspective.

ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts, London) will lead a seminar with Will Rose, Producer of Pavillion (Leeds), which looks at the production and commissioning of socially engaged practices in video.

Alongside Screenings from the ICA’s Art and Screen Network Programme, Beth Kettel has been invited to give a performance lecture relating to a new video work commissioned by Phoenix and ICA.

The event has been programmed and developed in Partnership with Anna Lucas who curates From an ox to an egg, an event including a performance towards the making of a new film, Yolk (2017) by Keira Greene, and screening of Diviner (2017), a film by Frances Scott.

A practical and participatory workshop by Artist Alice Gale-Feeny – In Front and Behind the Camera: Watching and Being Watched, takes place on Thursday 9 November 11:00 – 16:00, which explores the relationship between performance and Film.
