Place and Memory
Our new exhibition, Place and Memory, explores the heritage and legacy of Phoenix in the run up to our 60th birthday later this year. The exhibition features interactive digital works by emerging artists Adam Stephenson and Martin Cibik, who have been mentored by Sean Clark as part of REAL Initiative, with additional works by Sean Clark and Calum Vaughan.
The digital works incorporate archival materials which have been donated by members of the public or uncovered by our digital arts team, and help to tell the story of Phoenix’s rich cultural history since it was founded in 1963.
There will be a series of special events throughout the exhibition’s run – check our website and Art Instagram @Phoenixdigiart for more details. We’ll also discuss the exhibition in our monthly podcast.
This exhibition is part-funded by Phoenix, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Midlands Engine and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
