Propelled by the swing, you can scoot through a metropolis, leap massive structures in one single bound, or surge upwards to escape a deep abyss.

This amazing VR ride is from the mind of Prof Brendan Walker and his team at Thrill Laboratory, a collective of artists, designers, engineers, scientists and technologists who have been perfecting the art of creating, producing and examining new forms of thrilling experience.

Alongside the swings we’ll also have a drop-in virtual reality cinema where adults and children alike can experience an amazing selection of VR films and animations.

With four individual swings, the ride is open to all and recommended for children over 11 – or whose feet can touch the ground whilst on the swing. The height restriction is 128cm (aprox 4ft 2in) and the ride is not suitable for children younger than six.

Open to adults and young people alike, this is a free, drop in event but there may be a short wait to take part at busy times. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

VR Playground is commissioned by Horizon Digital Economy Research, Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Greenwich + Docklands International Festival, and Without Walls. It is supported by Arts Council England and produced by Thrill Laboratory, Horizon Digital Economy Research, and Norfolk & Norwich Festival.
