Isle of Dogs + Poles Apart PG

Fri 18 – Sun 20 May

Synopsis

Wes Anderson is back with another immaculate animation à la Fantastic Mr Fox. In the not so distant future, a Japanese city suffers an outbreak of canine flu and banishes all dogs to a remote offshore island.

Atari, a 12 year-old boy, is drawn to the island in pursuit of his beloved pet, and falls in with a pack of stray dogs that agree to help him on his quest to save his pet and escape.

We're very pleased to be screening Paloma Baeza's BAFTA-winning stop-motion short film Poles Apart before each screening of Isle of Dogs. In a harsh Arctic landscape, a hungry and solitary polar bear has to decide if a naïve Canadian grizzly bear is her food or her friend; featuring the voice of Helena Bonham Carter and Joseph May.

Dir: Wes Anderson

Cast: Bryan Cranston, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray
