Peter Weller (three years before suiting up as Robocop) stars as Dr. Buckaroo Banzai – a physicist, neurosurgeon, test pilot and guitarist - who makes a scientific breakthrough allowing him to travel through solid matter using the 8th dimension.
When he finds that evil interdimensional aliens from Planet 10 are after his device, Buckaroo must save the world - luckily he can call upon his band, the Hong Kong Cavaliers (who double as a crime fighting team) to assist him in defeating them.
The stacked cast includes Ellen Barkin, John Lithgow, and Jeff Goldblum…in chaps.
