NHS Test & Trace
We are required by law to collect the contact details of all Phoenix visitors for NHS Test & Trace purposes. Find out how we are doing this.We are currently required by law to request that all Phoenix visitors over the age of 16 sign in using either the NHS Test & Trace app or our own ‘pen and paper’ process.
Every time you visit Phoenix you will be asked to sign in on arrival. If you have a smartphone, we will ask you to scan a unique NHS Test & Trace QR code to log your visit to the venue. Alternatively, you can complete one of our paper forms.
We are required to collect visitor details separately for the cinema and the Café Bar, and there are separate NHS Test & Trace app QR codes for each of them. Visitors who are watching a film and sitting down in the Café Bar will need to sign in to both locations. You should sign in at the Café Bar once you are seated at your table.
The law requires us to refuse service in the Café Bar to any visitor over the age of 16 who refuses to sign in using either the NHS Test & Trace app or one of our paper forms.
In line with data protection regulations, your details will be stored for 21 days and only shared with NHS Test and Trace if required.
Please be aware that from Monday 19 July venue check-in for test and trace purposes will no longer be mandatory, and will instead be a matter of personal choice. We will continue to display the QR codes for anyone who wishes to check-in to the venue using the NHS Test & Trace app.
The NHS COVID-19 app allows individuals to be notified if they have been in close proximity with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The government is encouraging people to download the app, which then acts as a personal tracker that monitors where an individual goes and with whom they interact. The app continually scans for others who have also downloaded and activated the app and are in close proximity (i.e. within 2m distance of them for 15 minutes or more).
There is no requirement to enter personal information to use the app – it is an alert system to let users know if they have potentially come into contact with someone who has tested positive.
Venues have been allocated unique QR codes which must be displayed. Customers who have downloaded the NHS COVID-19 app then scan the venue QR code(s) to log their visit to the venue.
