Stage on Screen brings the best international shows and exhibitions direct to Phoenix, making performance and art accessible to everyone.
It’s no longer necessary to travel to London or beyond to experience world-class cultural events, and people have flocked to Phoenix to see acclaimed productions from the likes of National Theatre Live, the RSC, Glyndebourne and Monty Python, with sell-out audiences at many shows.
Stage on Screen at Phoenix began in back 2011 with NT Live’s production of Frankenstein, and since then has grown to include formats to suit all tastes, from ballet, opera and musical theatre to major art and museum exhibitions, and even Dr Who.
We show live, encore and recorded shows:
- Live screenings are shown live-via-satellite as they happen.
- Encore screenings are recordings of the first night’s live performance shown shortly after the initial live performance. We can only show a limited number of these according to licencing agreements with the shows’ distributors.
- Recorded screenings are of shows that have taken place previously and have been made available for viewing in cinemas.
You can make an evening of things with a meal in our Café Bar – our menu and daily specials are crammed with delicious dishes, all freshly cooked to order.
We serve a wide range of beers, wines and soft drinks and our screens are licenced so you can enjoy a drink while you watch the show.
Our monthly brochure lists a selection of our Stage on Screen programme, so for the latest information sign up to our regular e-newsletter.
Advance booking is recommended as these shows frequently sell out. Seats are allocated when you book, so there’s no scramble for the best seats when the doors open.
You can book online, by phone or in person at our Box Office and we don’t charge a booking fee.
