In a New York County Courthouse, a 12 man jury are instructed to return a unanimous decision of guilty or not guilty in the trial of a young man accused of murder.


Confined to one room for their deliberations, after an initial ballot Juror 8 (Fonda) is the only one to vote not-guilty. As the heat and tempers rise, Juror 8 tries to persuade the men there is reasonable doubt of the boy’s guilt, and each juror must confront their own morals and prejudices.


Screening as part of the Criminology Film Season at the University of Leicester, the film will be introduced by an academic with specific expertise in a related area of criminology and after the film there will be a Q&A.
