10 years before his first Spider-Man film, Sam Rami was unable to secure the rights to Batman or The Shadow so set about creating his own hero in the shape of Peyton Westlake - a scientist who is brutally attacked and left for dead.

Developing super-human abilities after a procedure to cure him of his injuries fails, Westlake becomes increasingly psychotic and swears vengeance on those who destroyed his life.
