This raw and revealing doc catches Dylan at a major career crossroads. Candidly shot behind the scenes of his 1965 UK tour, the tensions, doubts, and frustrations of his folksinger persona start to desperately fray as he treks the length and breadth of the country.

Amidst screaming fans and combating a condescending press, Dylan brazenly kicks back against the constraints of the folk scene: resisting his ‘protest singer’ label, drifting from his relationship with Joan Baez, and sewing the seeds of his electric reinvention, all while delivering some of his most blistering performances.

Filmed in 16mm black and white, Pennebaker captured musical history, invented the rock doc, pioneered the first music video, and offered an invaluable insight into the mind of a 20th century icon.
