An adaptation of Elizabeth Fremantle’s book The Queen’s Gambit, Firebrand is set in in Tudor England, where the accomplished and educated Katherine Parr (Vikander), reluctantly agrees to become the sixth wife of King Henry VIII (Law). But her consent to marry him carries great personal risk, given that her predecessors are either vanquished, beheaded, or dead.
Thrown into a paranoid royal court and conspired against by treacherous courtiers, Katherine must put her own plan into place to ensure her survival.
