FILM LINE-UP

INFERNO (1980)

Dir: Dario Argento

Cast: Leigh McCloskey, Irene Miracle

Argento's surreal second part to his "Three Mother's Trilogy" is an underseen masterpiece that deserves the acclaim of its sister film Suspiria, offering a gripping concoction of shadowy killers, elaborate deaths and evil ancient witches.

EVENT HORIZON (1997)

Dir: Paul W.S. Anderson

Cast: Sam Neill Laurence Fishburne

With the passing of the beloved Sam Neill this year we had to dip into his horror back catalogue for Frightarama. Event Horizon begins as a cerebral sci-fi before going off the deep end as a rescue crew investigate a missing ship that has voyaged beyond space, and brought something back...

TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL (2010)

Dir: Eli Craig

Cast: Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine

An underseen gem from the director of last year's Clown in a Cornfield, this hugely enjoyable horror-comedy sees a pair of well-meaning hillbillies mistaken for violent killers by a group of college kids - cue hilarious carnage.

FROM BEYOND (1986)

Dir: Stuart Gordon

Cast: Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton

Deliciously goopy body horror from the director of Re-Animator. When their experiment opens a portal to another dimension, a pair of scientists are transformed... The great Jeffrey Combs sucking brains at 3am, what more could you want!

ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS (1979)

Dir: Lucio Fulci

Cast: Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloch

Or Zombi 2 as it was released in Europe, Fulci's superbly grisly zombie film began as a sort-of sequel to Dawn of the Dead and takes place on a Caribbean island where the dead are coming back to life and attacking the living!
