We're delighted to welcome Leicester Jazz House back to Phoenix for a new season of performances for 2025/26, this month featuring The Brandon Allen Quartet – a dynamic group that performs contemporary arrangements of standard repertoire and jazz classics as well as original material.
The longstanding musical partnership of saxophonist Brandon Allen and pianist Tim Lapthorn is at the core of this project. The addition of Jeremy Brown (bass) and Chris Higginbottom (drums) has proved to be a potent mix, the group creating an explosive blend of melodic improvisation, heavy swing and emotional freedom and spontaneity.
The group repertoire is inspired by swing, bop, latin music, contemporary jazz and above all else, the experience of life right now.
