Ang Lee's (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) BAFTA nominated erotic World War II drama follows a young woman who gets swept up in a dangerous game of emotional intrigue with a powerful political figure, Mr Yee.

Lust, Caution is set in Hong Kong in 1938 and in Shanghai in 1942, when the city was occupied by the Imperial Japanese Army and ruled by the puppet government. A group of Chinese university students from the University of Hong Kong plot to assassinate, Mr Yee, a high-ranking special agent by using a honey trap.

This special public screening is co-presented by UK based film festival Odyssey 2024 and De Montfort University’s Cultural eXchanges, an annual festival led by students and staff.
