When office worker Tomoyo finds out that her best friend, Mariko, has committed suicide she struggles to process what has happened.
Knowing that her friend suffered years of abuse from her father, she is distressed that he has Mariko’s ashes. Trapped in a whirlwind of memories she decides to steal the ashes and sets out on a final journey to free Mariko at last.
Director Yuki Tanada sensitively depicts the emotional trauma of these two young women.
